Production

Hobon has a vast and updated machinepark that manufactures mono- and coextrusion blown film.

Mono-extrusion

Extruding is a non-stop proces, where granulates are heated and melted in a cylinder containing a revolving screw. This screw compresses the melted granulates as they are pushed through the machine's extrusion slit. This is where we give the bubble the desired shape by injecting air and thereby creating an enormous plastic bubble.Once cooled the foil is wrapped and slit if necessary.

Co-extrusion

Co-extrusion is reached by using several extruders in one process. In this way 3 components are extruded through one slit, which creates a foil that consists of 3 layers.

  Advantages
1. Possibility to have differente colours on the in-and outside of the foil
2. Specific surface-properties ( smooth / non-smooth surface )
3. Possibility to put barrier materials in the center layer
4. Downgaging by putting superior material in the center layer, that give the foil better mechanical properties.
